TDn2K has announced the finalists for the 2019 Best Practices Awards honoring best in class performance. These awards celebrate extraordinary workplaces and workforce operations in the foodservice industry. Winners will be honored January 29th, 2019 at the annual Global Best Practices Conference hosted by TDn2K™ held in Dallas, Texas.
The 2019 finalists are: Boddie Noell, The Wendy’s Company, and Whataburger in quick service; City Barbeque, The Habit Burger, La Madeleine and Portillo’s in fast casual; Norms, Eat ‘n Park, Silver Diner and First Watch in family dining; Ninety Nine Restaurants, Olive Garden, LongHorn and Outback Steakhouse in casual dining; BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Kings Seafood and The Cheesecake Factory in upscale casual; and Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, J Gilbert’s and Fleming’s in fine dining. There will be a winner chosen for each of the quick service, fast casual, family dining, casual dining, upscale casual and fine dining segments.

The finalists for these prestigious awards are evaluated on their retention of general managers and hourly employees, workforce diversity and compensation practices. In addition, their initiatives and efforts in community involvement, corporate responsibility, employee foundations and sustainable business practices are considered.
The 2019 Workplace Legacy Award, will also be awarded at the annual conference. The Workplace Legacy Award recognizes a leader in the restaurant industry who has clearly demonstrated success in balancing superior people practices and best-in-class operational results. In addition, their employees, organizations and communities have benefited from their leadership. In 2019, Steve King of Dave and Buster’s will be celebrated as the recipient of the Workplace Legacy Award.
The final awards to be celebrated are the Heart of the Workplace Award and Diamond Catalyst Award. The Heart of the Workplace Award is presented to the company or person that demonstrates significant commitment to and investment in their employees and communities. The Diamond Catalyst Award honors a member of People Report™ and Black Box Intelligence™ that recognizes superior workforce practices such as hiring, retention and compensation that enables the winner to define top quartile performance in driving sales and traffic.
